For those of you following along with our Granny Square challenge – Today we are introducing square # 2.
A quick recap for those that haven’t yet heard about the Granny Square Challenge: Every couple weeks I am introducing a new square pattern. These squares are not my original designs, but rather squares that I have found made by other designers. The final project will be a fun granny square throw full of assorted squares. Those participating have chosen and shared their colours, and mastered square # 1 – the solid granny square. Completed squares are being added to our Flickr album HERE as they are being posted.
Square #2, the next part of the challenge, is the Heart Square. This is a 12″ square unlike the last one – and you will only need one for the finished throw. As this will become a more central piece of the throw, I suggest working it in your favourite of your chosen colours!
Unlike the last pattern, this is worked in rows. The pattern can be found HERE on the SmoothFox Crochet and Knitting blog. This is a blog I have visited a few times now as I love the designs that SmoothFox shares! This pattern introduces a newer stitch for beginners, and so I am also sharing a great YouTube tutorial from New Stitch A Day HERE.
As I said last time, if you haven’t already joined in on our challenge its still not too late! We have only done one square now, moving on to number 2! If you want to join in and get caught up, you can find the post about square 1 HERE or come on over to our Facebook Event HERE to follow along! Share your squares on the FB Event page or email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will make sure they are added to the album!
Looking forward to seeing your squares!
