I have been working on a larger overall project as of late, but this one piece of the project independantly is a great costume idea for anyone interested in putting a creative, personal touch on their next costume! This project is not for beginners by any means – working with thread is hard for many newer crocheters due to how small the project is.
The pattern itself however is fairly simple. If you have maybe experimented a bit with crochet thread before (bookmarks or something like that) then it would be a great ‘bigger project’ to tackle! The hardest part I had was making sure I got the right shape to it when I starched it!
This crown was a lot of fun. To starch I simply used white glue cut with water. It gave it a great deal of strength in its shape and would definitely stand up to use as a costume crown! The pattern is from the Red Heart website and can be found HERE. It is an adult sized pattern, however they do also have a child sized crown HERE.
What better way to add that personal touch to your next birthday party, costume party or Halloween then a handmade portion of your costume!
