Mug Hugs – Part One

I am a HUGE tea drinker, and so are many of my friends and family. For this reason one gift I love giving on the holidays is a nice new big mug with a mug hug to match their personalities. I have a bunch of favourite mug hug patterns, and this year will be doing atleast 4 or 5 as gifts, so I am going to share a few with you. This is part one with the first two patterns I love…

Cabled Mug Hug – For the girly tea drinker

This particular pattern gives a thicker mug hug, so its more obvious on the mug. Its a cabled pattern, to which I added some braided ties to make it even more girly. The recipient of this particular mug is a breast cancer survivor, so the pink was an important element to the perfect gift! The pattern for this can be found HERE.

Due to the shape of my mug I had to alter the pattern slightly, putting a few increases in occasionally. Also to pretty up the top tie a little I braided a few different colours together and just weaved them in and out of the top part of the pattern.

Snowflake Mug Hug

This pattern is much simpler as far as the thickness on the mug. The snowflake applique adds the perfect wintery touch for a holiday gift! The pattern can be found HERE. This pattern is far less girly, and perfect for that person who changes up their house for each holiday whether its Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day, etc so that they can have the mug they need to fit their current Winter Wonderland theme!

The great part about mug hugs as Christmas gifts is that there are so many different styles and options that there is something for everyone! Add this to your ‘Christmas to do list’ as a last minute gift idea for that tea drinker or coffee fiend in your inner circle!

Happy Hooking!
